WORKSTATION: From a Grab Driver to Grab Partner

Do you still remember the evolution of beverages that become trendy over the years? From shakes wherein the brand Zagu became most popular of, fruit shakes where we’re reminded by Frutitas, to different flavors of Milktea, and the very recent- coffee.

Even before coffee shops became trendy, coffee was already part of our daily routine. We drink in the morning to kick us up and go on through our day. It played a big part in students who need an extra push to keep their eyes and mind awake for a long academic week. Before, we are settled to the 3in1 sachets that are readily available at retail stores or sari-sari stores. It has even different flavors that we may often hear at high-end coffee shops.

Until the big brands of these 3in1 sachets introduced coffees in a bottle that are served cold. Now, different flavors and variations are continuously emerging in the market. The pandemic never stopped dreamers. In fact, many dreams became a reality despite this pandemic. One of the dreams to realities that we have stumbled upon is the story of a roadside coffee shop located at Door 5 W and HA Building, Andrade Subdivision, Yumang Street Brgy. San Isidro, General Santos City – Workstation Drive-thru street coffee.

Workstation-Drive thru street coffee is owned by a newlywed couple (Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel) who was tested by this hard time of the pandemic. It was way back in March 2021 when a humbling and redirecting experience happened. Sir Christian Carl Gabriel applied as a Grab driver to sustain their new life as a married couple. They need to stop the operation of their mobile coffee shop and felt to have lost passion because of it. It was a heartbreaking situation for the reason that they have their coffee shop yet he takes orders from different coffee shops and delivers it but in God’s perfect time they would reap their hard works.

With God’s grace, they are now standing at their coffee shop serving coffees and currently a Grab Merchant partner. Indeed, with patience, it is now ‘from a Grab driver to Grab Partner.’

The shop’s design and the interior are minimal and IG-worthy. Don't worry about charging outlets and wifi connection they have those; if you are just dating yourself or if in a duo or group? They have tables to accommodate you! The roadside location is also best for to-go orders. Visit their place and try their menu especially their best-selling Supreme Iced Latte!
